The Columbus International Film Festival has announced the winners of the 2007 Chris Awards, and has named Echo Productions' Metal Storm as the Bronze Plaque winner of the 2007 Entertainment Division. The Chris Awards is the premiere independent filmmaking event in Central Ohio. Mike McNeese, Director of Metal Storm, is thrilled with the award and is eager to produce his next project to submit to the 2008 Columbus International Film Festival.

Principal photography is well under way in Laughalot Production's new feature-length comedy, Six Days. Echo Productions' Mike McNeese was chosen as DP for the project. It is being shot in 720/24pn high definition with Panasonic's AG-HVX200, and the movie is scheduled to be edited and mastered in HD with Final Cut Pro HD. The film features talented actors from the central Ohio area, with Jim Leo as Director and Producer. The film will be premiered in the Spring of 2008, and will be released locally shortly after.

Echo Productions has submitted Metal Storm to the new FOX television series On The Lot. Metal Storm is one of more than 5,000 short films submitted to the contest. The films and filmmakers will compete on a reality-TV series, and the winner will be awarded a one million dollar deal with Dreamworks to produce a feature-length film. Echo Productions acquires High Definition Production and Post Production equipment. With the acquisition of Panasonic's AG-HVX200 High Definition Camcorder, Echo Productions is now fully equipped to handle to produce in full-quality 1080i and 720p High Definition formats. The HVX200 is capable of recording in multiple frame rates, making it possible to shoot in true slow motion. Echo Productions has big plans for the new gear, with several independent film projects slated for the rest of 2006 and 2007. Echo Productions Metal Storm, has been accepted to the River City Film Festival in Marietta, Ohio. 2006 is the inaugural year for the River City Film Festival. The Festival is being held at The Colony historic theater in Marietta, Ohio, September 29th and 30th. Metal Storm is competing against some of the finest talent in the Ohio Valley area. Echo Productions newest short film, Metal Storm, was produced and submitted to the DVXUser.com Hero Fest film festival. When Martin Cade (Danny Martin) is diagnosed with a rare and incurable nerve condition, he volunteers for an experimental procedure to further advance the research of his illness. Something goes terribly wrong, and now Martin is experiencing some strange 'side effects'. It doesn't take long for him to realize that sinister powers are behind the research being done to him, and it's up to him to use his newly found gifts to discover the truth.

SAFECON 2006 was hosted by The Ohio State University Airport in Columbus, Ohio, and Echo Productions was there to help cover the event. SAFECON is an annual collegiate aviation competition that tests pilots in a variety of different skills and challenges.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources, the Division of Wildlife, has selected Echo Productions to produce six seqments for the Division's television show, Wild Ohio. Wild Ohio is a weekly magazine show that highlights wildlife stories in and around the state. Some of the topics that Echo Productions has been assigned to include Wood Frog Repatriation, Traditional Archery, Wildlife Area Management, Flyfishing, Buckeye History, and an Ohio-based Wildlife Artist. The segments will air late 2006.

Echo Productions premieres 'Thirty.' 'Thirty' is a short film produced in association with The Bloom Shoppe in honor of a friend's thirtieth birthday. Set to the classic 'X-Files' theme, 'Thirty' follows the antics of FBI Special Agents Sox Sculder and Delana Mully as they investigate the mysterious deaths of a group of friends in Central Ohio. |
